BSRA GDPR Policy
Keeping in Touch
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force on 25 May 2018 requires the Britannia Square Residents’ Association to confirm with residents how we may communicate with them and to publish our Data Policy about what data we keep about them and how we use it and protect it.
Our normal communication is by unaddressed leaflets hand-delivered to every household, such as our newsletters and invitations to our events. As these are not personalised and do not depend on any data we may have about you, these are unaffected by the GDPR and will continue unchanged.
Communications sent by email such as urgent Neighbourhood Watch information, invitations to Wine Club events, etc. are based on lists of residents who have opted in to receive these messages and are affected by the GDPR. We need to record your explicit consent for us to send you these emails. All residents were advised of our GDPR policy and invited to opt-in to receive these messages in May 2018. New residents since that date will receive an opt-in form in their welcome pack. Alternatively please contact the Secretary via the email link at the foot of this page.
We may also send you other emails with information relevant to the Association and in accordance with our Constitution.
Any changes to this communications policy or the Constitution must be approved by the residents at an AGM of the Association.
Our Data Policy can be seen at the link below. This Policy was approved by the residents at the 2018 AGM.
Please do opt-in so we can keep in touch!
