Welcome to new residents

Our membership includes those living in Britannia Square, Albany Terrace and Stephenson Terrace.

Our committee meets four times a year to review ongoing matters such as Planning Applications and discuss other local issues that arise. We also arrange social events, a Christmas carol party and Summer party so that neighbours can get to know one another and make newcomers welcome.  We have an AGM in November and include as guests our councillors, local police officers and friends from RGS Springfield and the United Reformed Church to strengthen our links with the wider community.  We support Neighbourhood Watch.  We produce a newsletter twice a year which includes dates of future events.

The Britannia Square Residents' Association was founded in 1973 to preserve, protect and enhance 'the character, environment and amenities of the Conservation Area known as Britannia Square and, so far as relevant, the immediate surrounding areas for the benefit of the residents of the City of Worcester and, to this end, to cooperate with or make representations to the appropriate local or other authorities and to take any other appropriate action'.  In 2024, we continue to uphold these founding objectives for the prosperity of the area and the support of those who live here.

Worcester City Council has prepared a leaflet focusing on our Residents’ Association area, which you may find interesting.  It summarises the Conservation Area Character Appraisal and Management Proposals Adopted by the Planning Committee in October 2010 for the Britannia Square Conservation Area (CA4).  It can be viewed here.
